Meet The Team

I am a sophomore at Texas A&M University, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Science Engineering. I am a part time lifeguard and swim instructor. I founded Aalath in 2023 with a singular mission: preserve Kashmiri Language amongst Kashmiri Pandit Americans. A community that is dispersed all around the globe after the KP exodus of 1990. About half a million people globally. I believe language is the cornerstone of any culture and the most important component of our identity. Modern day technology and an exploding set of AI tools and Natural Language Processors at our disposal open a world of possibilities to undertake preservation of Kashmiri language at scale and its adoption amongst the younger generation. This is the vision for Team Aalath.

नमसकार, वारय छिवॖ !I am an 8th grader at Fallon Middle School in Dublin, CA. I am the senior editor of my school yearbook. I have a strong interest in Kashmiri language and take pride in building content for Aalath Online Kashmiri Class that is fun, engaging and modern. I build Quizlets, Online homework assignments, crosswords and other fun language learning content on aalath.com. This year, in 2024, I have helped about 50 students (kids and adults) complete the 3-month Aalath Online Kashmiri Class. In addition to traditional online classroom style classes, I am exploring Natural Language Processing tools to build a language learning platform for Kashmiri language that will be self-paced and scale quickly to a much larger audience with less dependency on live teaching.
